Are you ready for Something Different?
Howdy. My name is Matthew Williams, but some people call me Bronco, and I’m running for Congress this year, 2024, in my home state of Mississippi.
The amount of representation that we have in our government these days is not enough. Our representation has shifted to protect the interests of those in power, and they’ve stopped protecting us.
That’s why I’m running for U.S. House this year; I’m running because what we have doesn’t work anymore. I’m running because we need Something Different.
We need someone in Washington who will keep the people of Mississippi in mind when they make their decisions. If you’re looking for a representative that will actually represent you, then it looks like you’re looking for Bronco.
I’m a teacher, and as such I’m an ardent supporter of education in all forms. I started my teaching career while substituting for DeSoto County Schools, the largest public school district in Mississippi by student enrollment, and I currently teach Spanish and direct theatre at two different private schools in the area. I firmly believe that quality education is a fundamental necessity for creating a brighter future, whether it comes from a public school, private school, or from being homeschooled, and I believe that we need to do more to ensure that wherever it comes from, our children are learning in safe, efficient, and actually educational environments.
But this isn’t just about education. There’s a lot that goes into building a brighter future, and education is just an important part of it. I’m running on a platform that also includes criminal justice system reform, environmentalism, supporting constitutional rights, protecting workers’ rights and agriculture and small businesses, and much more.
